Meljac - église

History

The name of the Commune come from antiquity. The current location of Meljac corresponds to that of a Gallo-Roman farm (or house) whose construction was attributed to a Roman legionary called Melius. First attached to St Just on Viaur Meljac only became common in its own right since 1906. In the village, we see beautiful old houses with outside staircases and wells. See also a bench in the shape of Dolmen. The Church of St. Blaise dates from the late 19 th century and early 20th century. It contains a wooden statue of Saint Blaise, altarpieces of the 19th century and brass chandeliers of the 18th century.

Wilderness

Valley and gorges of Céor paradise for fishermen and hikers (circuit Valleyof Céor).

Tradition

Anecdote

The history of Meljac is now closely linked to the Internet. Indeed an association " Meljac.net " now has almost as many members as there are inhabitants in the municipality (171 members and 155 inhabitants). It's probably this village one of the most computerized in France!
